We contracted with Redpoint studios to design a unique, ergonomic, pneumatic tool for our industrial customers. Matt Harris and his team led us through the design process and were instrumental in guiding us towards defining our objectives. They were very pleasant to work with and presented us with several different concepts in both 2D and rapid prototype models. We are delighted with the results and the project came in on budget. I would recommend Redpoint Studios to anyone considering a similar project.

I’ve been working with Matt Harris for over 10 years and would not work with anyone else at this point. He has the perfect combination of great design sense, strong skills from concept through details, and awesome to work with.”

I have known Scott Leonard for several years now, working together on a new product design for Exergen Corporation. Scott and his company have shown great skill in helping us take a 2D design configuration and converting to Inventor 3D. The work was taken from initial concepts, with many beneficial changes through to SLA modeling. The design, then went through an “Industrial Design” ergonomic phase, and is now close to completion. We have worked well together and he was able to deliver on time, accurate and useful work. We continue using Redpoint Studios on this new product.”

Edge Robotics is a small start up in southern NH producing a mobile surveillance robotics platform. We made several attempts designing the outer skin of our robot attempting to achieve a desirable look for our market. However our efforts did not produce the desired reaction with our test audience. We were faces with the task of searching for a design/engineering firm to produce our body with all the mechanical features needed to achieve our environmental goals. This activity represented a significant capital investment in a firm we had no track record with.
Redpoint Studios contacted us at this exact moment in our development process. We began our engagement with an understanding of their capability and cost model. After my first meeting with Matt, I felt comfortable enough to meet his partner Scott for a more in depth assessment of our needs, and time scales. What I asked of them was quite challenging. More importantly was understanding their design process. After our second meeting I delivered one of our engineering prototypes for photographing. This allowed Matt and Scott to gain a sense of the dimensions and volume of the machine in order to begin the skin rendering phase. This concept phase produced a number of sketches incorporating mechanical constraints of the platform. Based on Scott’s mechanical model of the machine, Matt rendered enough sketches that we were able to narrow the concept drawings to a single drawing. Scott and Matt were fastidious in their note taking of all the features and mechanical needs.
Then the real work began as the robot’s skin took form. Matt had a great deal of latitude in producing the overall look and feel. The design objective was to produce an elegant design with a balance between edges and curves. Scott did a brilliant job incorporating every mechanical device and element such that the final product mated with each interfacing surface perfectly (I really mean perfectly). Matt’s concept to physical renderings were equally elegant and perfect. That said I needed to make a minor design change when we were nearing the end of the project. I was met with such a can do attitude our relationship reached a new level.
I found a great company, if I require mechanical or industrial design services they will be my first call. Even if I have to wait in their queue. They are not only reliable but they have a work ethic that is in line with our companies values.”
